Felt Presence Open letter
At lunchtime in Felt Presence, the draught asked for somewhere to hang its scarf.
A skeleton made a coat stand from a twig and an empty spool.
The draught slipped out of the moss-green wool. It settled neatly on a branch.
For the first time all morning, the price tags stopped moving.
“Where will you sit?” asked the skeleton.
“Here,” said the draught.
The ghost moved a little beneath his weighted blanket.
After a while, a very small snore lifted one corner.
The skeleton carried the coat stand closer.
Its owner might wake up chilly.
