Felt Presence Open letter
At lunchtime in Felt Presence, the ghost asked the moth to read him something.
“I only have lamp observations.”
“That sounds restful.”
The moth opened his notebook.
“Lamp three. Warm. Slight tendency to hum.”
The ghost settled deeper into his quilt.
“Lamp four. Also warm.”
“Excellent.”
By lamp seven, the ghost was asleep.
The moth reached the end of the page and hesitated.
A small voice came from beneath the quilt.
“Don’t skip the findings.”
So the moth read them too, very softly.
When he finished, he tucked a length of ribbon between the pages.
Tomorrow they would begin the extension cords.
